Rating:

A lovely story book with imaginative tales of the lives of three very different dolls all living in a young girls antique dolls house. the young girl subsequently shrinks and becomes involved in the everyday lives of the dolls, such as weddings, tea partys and the ineitable havoc of spring cleaning.
one of my favourite childrens books.

Beautifully illustrations and a simple story None

Great rhyming text. Not quite as humorous as some of the other books in the series.

Teachers the alphabet, lots of animals, bright illustrations. Incorrect colours given for some animals.

Great fun story None

Good introduction to starting school. Dated clothing.

Battle for Spain: The Spanish Civil War 1936-1939 - Antony Beevor
Academic text I just can't see it having broad appeal - it is too dry

Peter Pan in Scarlet - Geraldine McCaughrean
Sticks to the original's style Definite sequel - read the original first

She'll Take It - Mary Carter
Funny, will make you laugh out loud None I can think of

Merry Christmas, Blue Kangaroo! - Emma Chichester-Clark
Good evocation of Christmas with familiar characters, well produced, good story, touch of magic Anodyne, rather white-middle-class

Asterix and the Olympic Games
Great fun for all ages. Some of the original humour can be lost in the translation

Horrible Histories - The Angry Aztecs
Some interesting facts and figures... ... not as well written or interesting as others in this series of books...

The Ballad of Halo Jones Book 3 - Alan Moore
The longest, most focused, most action-packed and most tragic volume yet. Falls for the war story clichés at times, and lacks the humour of the previous books.

Death's Jest-Book - Reginald Hill

Starry Nights - Susannah Bradley
Lots of makes may not be useful for 10 months

The Egg Race - Polly Williams
Funny in places, good characters Bit slow at the start, not as good as her first
