This is one of those books where the bad guys are oh, so bad, and the girl is oh, so beautiful (and available - it really was love at first sight), but being a Dick Francis, all this is perfectly in order. And oh, how convenient that the hero, this time an English Lord, is also an experienced pilot for the flying finish. But again, this works well, as does the entire plot. I enjoyed it, but one thing puzzled me - how do a pair of lovers communicate in their second language, French, and have such deep conversations and metaphysical discussions?
