Advantages: A good read
Disadvantages: None
I am an avid book reader especially in the winter with the long cold evenings and nothing on TV.However I do find that continuous book reading can become a bit daunting at times. So when I am `between books` I like to read a short story.
Follow Me ,by Sheila O`Flanagan,published in2011, is one of the Galaxy Quick Reads series and is the right sort of story for a short book.The story follows career girl Pippa Jones who is in her late twenties, single , living in London and works as a saleswoman for a computer security firm.She is very ambitious , good at her job and is trying to win her firm`s in house competition for the best salesperson of the year, with a trip to New York as the prize.
She travels all over the country and is doing well until she notices she has some stiff competition from a rival firm.To begin with there is an air of mystery about the story to do with a handsome young man who seems to be following her wherever she goes.
The character of Pippa is one that many young women in their late twenties can identify with. Still single and ambitious with friends of her own age ,who are begining to move on ,settling down with their own boyfriends, Pippa is often quite lonely.This story is set in the 21st century with a good modern day background , computer jargon etc.
I do not usually read Chic Lit and this is the first Sheila O`Flanagan book that I have ever read .I enjoyed reading it and I will be looking for her books again. I found my copy of the book in my local library in the `short reads` section, but if you want to buy a copy it will cost you £1.99 ( you might find it for less on Amazon) and I think it is worth the money. You can find out more about Sheila O`Flanagan and her books on her website ;
