This is the third and final book in the Tawny Man trilogy by fantasy writer Robin Hobb. Fools Fate came out back in 2003. This was another big hit for the author after the sucess of her first two books in the series. Fans were eager to find out the fate of the characters and see where the story goes.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series and so was very excited about getting into this one. The world in which I this is set is no very familiar to the readers and I really enjoy finding out what is going to happen to the big characters.

So the story carries on from the 2nd book, we find Fitz still in charge of his small band of gifted people. He is still helping the young Prince Dutiful out and is aobut to embark on an adventure. The Princes intended has demanded he bring her the head of Icefyre, a legendary dragon who is burried beneath the ice on a distant island. So Fitz has to embark on this exciting adventure with his new friends.

I enjoy the fact that this book takes us out of the world we are used to. It takes us across the sea to new and distant lands. So it's nice to have something a little different. All are favorite characters are involved and we meet some good new characters along the way.

I think out of all the Hobb books I have read, this one is probably the most exciting. It feels like a real adventure we being swept up in. There is lots of action and plenty going on to draw you into the story.

By this time we are very familiar with Fitz and other main characters. So to get to the end of the story at last, it's quite moving to learn what will become of our favorite characters. There are some really moving sections of the book that get you really emotionally involved in the story.

Hobb has a wonderful way of describing things. She goes into such detail and makes the world come alive for the reader. She is right up there with my favorite authors and I will always look out for any books she has done.

You must remember that this is the third book in the series. You can't really read this book without having read the previous to books first. Don't let this put you off though as its well worth reading the other books.

This is probably the best book in the series, which is saying something as I gave the other two books 5 stars. It just shows how wonderful a book this is and am sure everyone who reads this will enjoy it.
