It is tempting when you have a successful series of books to keep the series going and to an extent Isaac Asimov succumbed to this temptation by writing follow-ups to his hugely successful and groundbreaking Foundation Trilogy. The original trilogy comprises 'Foundation', 'Foundation and Empire' and 'Second Foundation' and decades later Asimov added 'Foundations Edge', 'Foundation and Earth', 'Prelude to Foundation' and 'Forward the Foundation'. By the end of the series and sadly towards the end of Asimov’s life he had just about tied together all the loose ends to this epic story and it is difficult to see how any more can be added to it.
