The first story, entitled 'Nice N Easy', focuses on a model named Janey Wilcox who seems to be on a perpetual search for a rich man who can provide her with a house in the Hamptons for the summer. Crowned Review Four Blondes - Candace Bushnell: Same City, More Sex (2697 words)
by - written on 18/06/01 (Very useful, 253 readings)
Rating:

It has been a few months since the last series of “Sex and the City” departed our screens, ok there are the repeats on E4 and I have the first series on video, but it really isn’t the same is it. I long for more antics from Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda (sighs), alas I shall have to wait a while for some more. However, with them signed up for another 2 years at least I am guaranteed some more. If like me you are feeling the void in your life because there is no new episodes of the scandalous “Sex and the City” on the TV then there is an answer in sight, albeit a temporary one. Yes, Candace Bushnell the author of the Book ...  Read the complete review

Candace Bushnell has got to be one of the most successful women today. Millions will know her as the creator of ?Sex and the City?, a television series based on her life in New York. She released the ?Sex and the City? book in 1999 and that really took off, so in 2000 she decided to release another book called ?4 Blondes?. Now I admit, I?ve never watched an episode of Sex and the City. I?m one of the only people I know that hasn?t. That is mainly because I couldn?t really be bothered to watch it so late at night. And again if I?m totally truthful, I only know that ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Four Blondes - Candace Bushnell: A great book...if one of your table legs is wonky (534 words)
by - written on 07/06/01 (Very useful, 89 readings)
Rating:

The reason I first bought this book was because of 'Sex and the City'. I have never read the book but I love the TV series, so I thought I'd give this a go, I presumed that it would be as good as 'Sex and the City'. I also presumed that this would be like 'Sex and the City', about four women friends and their lives. I was wrong to presume these things. Firstly, it is actually made up of four short stories about four different blondes and their lives. I feel this format could have worked in larger book but because this book is so short there is no time in the short stories for real character development, or for the reader to really ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Four Blondes - Candace Bushnell: Four averagely good stories (292 words)
by - written on 03/09/09 (Very useful, 22 readings)
Rating:

As Candace Bushnell was responsible for writing the book upon which the TV series 'Sex and the City' is based, I thought this would be a good read. I expected a book that was funny and entertaining but I actually found it to be quite dull. I had not realised before I started reading the book that it is actually made up of four different stories about four different women, hence the title 'Four Blondes'. Each of the stories ranges in tone from light-hearted to dark and thoughtful. The first story, entitled 'Nice N Easy', focuses on a model named Janey Wilcox who seems to be on a perpetual search for a rich man who can provide her with a house ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Four Blondes - Candace Bushnell: Blonde but not dizzy (243 words)
by - written on 24/03/01 (Useful, 70 readings)
Rating:

Four blondes is a book about romance, hopes, dreams but more importantly, about human emotions and sexuality. It is as it sounds – four short stories about women in different social situations who have different aims in life but have some in common. For example, they all want to be happy, they all want to find the ‘real’ woman inside them and are all quite confused as how to go about doing so. One girl is a bit of a social hanger on and is famous for being famous. She attaches herself to different men so that she can spend the summer in the Hamptons and it doesn’t seem to matter if she likes them or not. She soon realises that going out with a man ...  Read the complete review
