Four blondes is a book about romance, hopes, dreams but more importantly, about human emotions and sexuality. It is as it sounds – four short stories about women in different social situations who have different aims in life but have some in common. For example, they all want to be happy, they all want to find the ‘real’ woman inside them and are all quite confused as how to go about doing so. One girl is a bit of a social hanger on and is famous for being famous. She attaches herself to different men so that she can spend the summer in the Hamptons and it doesn’t seem to matter if she likes them or not. She soon realises that going out with a man for his summer house is not the way to find happiness and so she eventually stands on her own two feet and gets her own place. Another story follows a girl who has been a bit of a starlet for a while until she marries a prince and is besieged by media attention – she cannot stand it and it starts to make her think differently and see how life really is.

My favourite though is the woman who finds herself trapped in a relationship with her ‘perfect’ husband who is starting to seem less and less perfect every day. This is a really interesting read and a fantastic follow up to Sex and the City.
