Dick Francis has written some of the most popular contemporary thriller/fiction of this day. He really does know how to write an incredibly exciting thriller. A word of warning though, if you don't like horses then steer well clear as every Francis novel is about horses in some way.

Not only is he an expert in his field, having been a jockey in earlier life, but he knows how to write a good story. There is always an interesting hero who has probably had a dodgy past but isn't so indestructable that we think he is Bruce Willis. His locations can be incredibly exotic including Austrailia, South Africa and even Ascot (surprise, surprise!).

I would recommend any Francis novel to anyone who wants an easy to read, hard to put down book.
