FRANKIE is the title of jockey FRANKIE DETTORI's autobiography. The book starts with his childhood growing up in Italy. Frankie's love of horses is evident instantly as he used to ride at gypsy events and was fairly successful. This led his father to send him over to England to be a stableboy and learn the ropes. This shows Frankie's dedication to horseriding as he only had £300 to travel over with. While a stableboy Frankie learnt about horses and developed his skills as a jockey. Race fixing…punch-ups…cocaine! It’s all here and more. Who would have thought it off Frankie Dettori in his stunning expose! Ok, I’m lying. Well, not about the cocaine, although it was only one snort, so he says. None of the above is here, of course, Frankie the Mr. Nice Guy face of a sport that always needs some good PR. He is now the most famous man to ride a horse since John Wayne. With champion flat-jockey Kieran Fallon embarrassingly still banned for race fixing and many others facing prison and bans in the sport the little Italians romantic win in the Derby last month after 15 attempts has been one of very few good news stories for the sport of late. ...
