When Belle De Jour’s first book “Intimate Adventures of a London Call Girl” was published, it was notable enough that I first heard about it via the BBC London News. With that kind of press attention, it came as a surprise to discover that there had been a sequel; not only published, but available in paperback, without me noticing. Given how much I’d enjoyed the original, however, the shock was not enough to prevent me grabbing a copy of “The Further Adventures of a London Call Girl” straight away. I will admit to having some minor doubts, though. Although you should never judge a book by the cover, the cover of this one was a cause for slight concern. Gone ... Read the complete review

Further Adventures of a London Call Girl…What Belle Did Next – Belle De Jour One of my last holidays in Tenerife was spent reading the filthy pages of Belle De Jour’s first book Adventures of a London Call Girl. This book was interesting, funny and perfect for cheering you up and reading in the sunshine. I enjoyed it immensely and with each page I found myself more engrossed until the book ended with me wanting more. Upon a recent shopping trip to Tesco I had a quick browse down the book isle which I just cant help myself from doing seeing as the books are far cheaper here than anywhere else. I instantly saw this book that ... Read the complete review

The sequel is as funny and entertaining as Belle's first book, and tells the story of Belle's continuing adventures. From her efforts to change from 'working girl' to working girl- whilst fielding calls from her manager and sneaking off to visit clients in her lunch hour- to the delights and disappointments (and downright inventive aspects) of her love life, the lessons she learns about the dangers of keeping secrets- and diaries- and her enduring friendship with 'N', who always offers a ... An excellent amusing book to while away those sunny afternoons. Not quite as "shocking" as the first book. This one is more amusing as she struggles to deal with the everyday normal life that most of us have! A relaxing read which doesn't require too much concentration. Full of advice and her thoughts on how to deal with boys and the problems life throws at you! Probably best if you ignore most of her advice ... Read the complete review

Vaguely interesting story, faintly evocative descriptions.
Horrible overuse of adjectives, illogical plot jumps and inconsistent character writing.
