I discovered Diana Gabaldon earlier this year and I'm now on the third book in her "Through the Stones" series. She has a fantastic way with historical romance and once you've started reading her books they really are addictive! Her first novel "Cross Stitch" sets the story for her main character, where she is hurled back through time and meets her "hero". Once I'd finished this book I just had to get the rest to see where the story would take me! If you're a fan of historical fiction, romantic fiction, or just with time travel fiction then I guarantee you will enjoy Diana Gabaldons books. ...

An truly amazing author. Her books are 'unputdownable', (if I can create a new word)- you have to read them from cover to cover, pausing only when absolutely necessary. I literally could not tear myself away from the first book in the series, and once I'd finished that I had to go and get the others immediately. I finally tracked them down but it was well worth the effort. She has an amazing writing style, and great characters that you can relate to from the very first page. Her books draw you in subtly, until, without realising it, you are completely hooked. If she released an empty book today, I'd go and buy it, she is that good. And on the plus side, ...
