Gallop is a scanimation picture book by Rufus Butler Seder which uses an extraordinary type of animation to create an illusion of movementn so when you open the book you actually see the animals move! I was fascinated to understand how it works, its absolutely amazing and Ive never seen anything like it! After looking into it on line etc I eventually managed to find the science behind the book (even if I dont quite understand it completely!) What a absolutely delightful little book. Gallop! is a "Scanimation" picture book by Rufus Butler Seder. It is a bit like a modern day pop up book, as you open each page a different animal can be seen in motion, a running horse for example or a bird flying through the air. It works by having a striped perspex window on the right hand of each double page, as you open the page the artwork behind the window and the window itself are pulled along making the animal look as if it is moving.
