So, who says modern poetry in English doesn't rhyme? Tony Harrison never fails, for one. In fact, his word-play is renowned, and in this book everything is in a very simple rhyming scheme, with quite strict metre - the discipline of which only makes him more endearing. The Gaze of the Gorgon, now 10 years old, should still be available and visible in bookshops and libraries. While not the most famous of his volumes, it is worth a try, for chances are you will either put him down in bewilderment or scan for other volumes.
