As I said the book has great photography. The text sections and the photography sections are well defined from each other. This book didn't do anything for me. It might indeed set the record straight on Geri halliwell the pop star and her relationship with the media. It was down the middle for me. I neither found it exciting, invigorating, or revealing nor ...more

Premium Review Geri: Just for the Record - Geri Halliwell: Won't spice up your reading enjoyment (364 words)

I am neither a Geri Halliwell, or Spice Girls fan. Neither would be my cup of tea musically, and I can't say I am particularly interested in reading about the lives of certain pop stars, especially the manufactured types - OK, I agree with what you are thinking - they are all manufactured, but some are manufactured more than some. So how did this end up coming into my possesion? Well, it was in a big box of book's I got at a car boot sale. So, why didn't I end up just chucking it (I did, well to be precise, I cluttered up a charity shop with it)? I had a quick flick through the book anyway and was most impressed with the photography. Premium Review GERI HALLIWELL AUTOBIOGRAPHY - JUST FOR THE RECORD (389 words)
by - written on 20/10/09 (Very useful, 14 readings)
Rating:

JUST FOR THE RECORD is the title of former SPICE GIRL, GERI HALLIWELL'S autobiography. The book starts with Geri as a child growing up in Watford. Geri appears to have a normal childhood and always dreamt of being a singer. This is a boring section of the book where nothing exciting happens. It gets more interesting when she talks about the process of getting into the Spice Girls. The audition process seemed gruelling and the relief she felt when getting picked for the group is highlighted. This gives a great insight in to how difficult it is in suceeding in the music industry. Geri then says what it was like at first meeting the girls ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Geri: Just for the Record - Geri Halliwell: She walked out of the Spice Girls into unknown (1334 words)

I was soooooooo happy when I inevitably finished this book, due to the fact that this is the first ever auto-biography I have read. All day today I've been wondering how to structure this book, and I couldn't really think of a way, so if you don't like this structure, I do not care, just please comment my reviews so that I know what I can improve as I need to know. Now I got this from Amazon and I wasn't too sure whether I would have liked to read on my favourite ex-Spice Girl, but my theories were abolished at the first read of the brilliant chapter. To be honest, I think everyone would be drawn into this fabulous book and probably be so upset after finishing ...  Read the complete review

Far more positive than some 'tragic' life stories, quite interesting It's a sequel to a tragic life story !

The realisation that things aren't so bad, after all. A little limited in scope.

I was able to use my speed reading skills... That I wasted 25p on it!

moving and original tale well told you may feel the need to escape to a desert island!
