This is a graphic novel type comic book, wonderfully told and illustrated by Daniel Clowes. First up, I am not a great reader of comics, graphic novels and the like, so my first encounter with Ghost World was through the film made by Terry Zwigoff, which was based on this book - the comic book came first and there are differences. After watching the film of Ghost World, and discovering that it was based on this book, I decided to track down a copy. This is one of the most subtle, lovely moving comics I've ever read- A story of two girls twilight friendship in small town usa.. Daniel Clowes beautifily depict two best friends there quirks there nuances and there slow realitic drifting apart that basically happens to pretty much everyone at some point in there life The book is Classic Clowes is really easy to get hold of and is a must for literature fans everywhere- I find it hard to implore why I love this book so much- so i'll just urge you to check it out- it's the kind of book that after buying it- I had bought another copy for a friend within a week- best eight pounds I ... This book is a wonderful evocation, by Daniel Clowes, of teenage friendships - their highs, their lows, and the tragic way they sometimes end, not with a bang, but with a gradual drifting apart as the friends take their separate trajectories into adulthood. First serialised in Clowes's "Eightball" comic (and being made into a feature film at the time of writing), Ghost World is the tale of two friends, teenagers Enid and Rebecca. Enid is prickly, streetwise, rather eccentric, and not "conventionally attractive" (you just KNOW she's going to be a Punk at some point!), whilst Rebecca is blonde, pretty, and much less idiosyncratic ...
