I had never heard of this book before I picked it up in a second-hand bookshop. Not entirely knowing what to expect from this contemporary Polish writer, I was very pleasantly surprised. Although this novel was more an artistic interpretation of the dilemmas of adolescence than an action-packed story, it was very engrossing and captured the mood extremely well.
