Advantages: Good to hear about life in other countries and cultures

This book was a Christmas present and reading the synopsis, I was really excited to read it. It is written by a girl explaining the lives of her friends in Suadi Arabia and how although rules for women are strict out there, girs will be girls and it is a tale of what they get up to when no-one os looking etc. It is likened to sex and the city.

The reality of the book in fact doesn't quite live up to it's synopsis. Although I did really enjoy this book if you are expecting to read a juicey book as the synopsis and front cover suggests that's not what you get.

The book is a series of weekly emails written by a young woman in Saudi about her friend's lives that were posted on a site. They become so wiely read and appeared so controversial that they caused outrage in Saudi and were made into a book. Sounds good...

I found it extremely interesting to read about the lives of young women my age in the middle east but as would be expected, they lead a very different life and what caused outrage in Saudi, really isn't that exciting or different for Western women. Really the author is just explaining everyday life for us.

Saying that it is a very good read and still so interesting to read about a different perspective. Just don't expect anything juicey!

Summary: A very good read
