Premium Review The Lion and the Unicorn (163 words)
by kittykandy - written on 03/11/08 (Useful, 184 readings)
Rating:

The Lion And The Unicorn (by Ali, aged 8) is a great book! It includes scary things like the man with one leg and how Lenny's neighbours house gets bombed. It's the only book I like that's to do with the war. I like the way the author describes the characters and their feelings. It is a bit sad too, when the school boys tease Lenny ...

Rating:

children s book goes anyway), so I did not want baby books with just a word or two on each page. I chose this book and others from Shirley Hughes Alfie collection because I used to love her books when I was a child and I wanted to share something from my childhood with my son. I bought this book from Waterstones and it cost £6.99 in paperback. I would have preferred a hardback edition to keep for him as I think they look nicer but I could not find one. The ISBN is 978-0-099-25891-9. It was shortlisted for the 1992 Smarties Book Prize. It was written and illustrated by Shirley Hughes and it is published by Random House (London) under the imprint of Red Fox Books. ...
