Wow...That was all I could say when I saw this movie. This movie was truly inspirational because it saw a group of black kids and white kids play together in one team and form friendships that would have never been made before due to the racial times. What is even more meaningful is that this movie is a true story. This movie was truly amazing and it didn't have any action or comedy really. It was more of a serious movie that really got you on the side of the boys. The movie made you want the boys to win and go on and do things with their lives. This is an excellent book until the few pages. It has some of the best action scenes I've ever read. It is very humorous. Most of all the three protagonists (Oscar, Star, and Rufo) are all intresting and very likable.One of the best scenes is the fight with an ugly, troll-like creature named Igli. I was in tears, I laughed so hard. Mr Heinlein weaves a tail of adventure, love, justice, and change. Problem is the plot ends in the third quarter and the book looses track of itself. ... Heinein was way ahead of his time with this book and had to fight like crazy to get it published in the form he wanted it in. It is a fairy-story along the lines of a Brother's Grimm tale but with some superb one-liners and philosophy (nothing heavy) thrown in at no extra charge. One of his earliest departures from what was 'normal' at the time (published in 1963 by Avon books), this novel was extremely well-received by a nation sick of Pappa-knows-best repression, and this book won a Hugo (prestigious sf) award.
