When Rebecca's friends go off & leave her alone at the park, she finds a toad in the pond who turns out to be a talking magical toad, once the familiar of a rather unpleasant witch from some three hundred years ago. He & Rebecca adopt each other & he teaches her to make spells - including flying on an umbrella in the absence of a broomstick. She tries out an evil spell or two on people & causes havoc, but swiftly realises she's not cut out to be a wicked witch & that there are better ways of sorting out your differences.
