One word, AWESOME. This has it all, a tortured and all powerful central character, murder, Ghola's, Ixians, facedancers, Teilexu, quotes, Melange, genetics, sandtrout, musings and revelations
The book's in the original saga (cycle?) are imbued with Frank Herberts love of evolution - linguistic and the obvious; it follows the established study of religion, politics and society and in this instance the marriage of religion and politics as a 'Golden Path'...more |

This is my favourite book in the original Dune Saga. There is so much to commend this book for; the writing is superb and the character development is fantastic - it's really good. The brief synopsis, without spoiling anything, is that it's 3000 years since the original book Dune and the fremen dream of a verdant Arrakis has come true and Leto (II) is changing humanity, and the proof of the changes will be his destruction.
