The Good Beer Guide is somewhat of an institution in the beer drinking fraternity. Camra members sit down and beer score pubs in their area,thn the top pubs are put through for a place in the guide itself,so all pubs are recommended by beer drinkers for beer drinkers. A word of warning though,it is a good beer guide,and not a good pub guide.For this reason you may be disappointed if you reach a pub that sounds great for you and the missus,only to find it is wall to wall blokes,playing pol whilst chewing an exhaust pipe!
