Advantages: funny, easy read

Disadvantages: over too quickly

I don't think i have ever read a fiction book written by two people at one time? I was worried that the story wouldn't flow and - being a big terry pratchett fan, I thought that it would be really obvious which bits he had written and which bits were added by Neil Giaman.... I was wrong on both points.

There are similarities to Other Terry Pratchett stories that i have read. for example, any Discworld fan will IMMEDIATELY RECOGNISE WHAT CAPS MEAN, and they will be able to spot similarities between 'Good Omen's' witches and Discworld's witches.

The story is basically about the end of the world... or the few days beforehand. We follow the footsteps of the spawn of the devil, a good angel and an evil demon in their attempts to avert disaster.

The book is filled with funny moments. These two authors must both be advocates of what i call 'intelligent humour' in that you can read the book hrough and find it enjoyable and mildly amusing but if you have that little bit of knowledge that the book requires, you will really begin to understand all the subtle humour involved.

This book was the kind that you can't put down... it reads so easily that it seems to be over in minutes and when you get to the end, you are extremely disappointed that there isn't more to come.... I need more pratchett!

I have now been inspired to read some more Neil Gaiman stuff, to see if his style really is as similar to pratchett's as I think.

You'll find Gaiman is more of a dabbler in mythology and legend. He takes old tales and myths and applies them in a modern setting, or approaches them realistically. He's a great writer... try out his Sandman series for some really good stories (read my opinion for some info on the series, hint hint)

Even though I have read practically all the Discworld novels, I've never read this one. Have to give it a go then!
