Advantages: Helps child to learn rhyming and reading, and might send them off to sleep too!

Disadvantages: None

This book is 60 years old, and is a lovely tale of a young rabbit who says goodnight to all the things in his room. There are objects and animals, which your child will love to point out, and after it has been read a few times they will love to join in or fill in the gaps for you (my son loves to do this); the rhyming helps them learn, and helps prepare them for bed.

The book is quite daring in its use of green and orange colours, but I think it is quite nice, and is different to the usual colours you see in children's books in recent years. They will also like to look at the different striking colours.

However, a nice twist with the colours is that as the story progresses, the colours dim, and the stars and the fireplace begin to illuminate, and I think is the other secret used to lull your child into the mood for sleep.

====Verdict====

It is a joy to read with your child, and a joy to listen to them learning the words; it is a must on all children's bookshelves.

Summary: A great little book to read with your child with a old-fashinoned feel to it.
