This book has been described as one of the best début novels of the year, and for me they are right. It has a way of drawing you in and forcing you to keep reading. I didn't put it down from cover to cover. It has a way of putting you in the scene and making you understand what is going on. The book is set in a world where a small percentage of people are gifted with "graces," which make them brilliant at a particular ability. These gifts could be in anything from swimming to mind reading.
