I did not like this book whatsoever. It came nowhere near his previous books. The usual standard was just not there. Perhaps he should re-read his own previous books and see where he went wrong. Sharpe is living on his reputation with this one. I suggest you avoid buying it and read Porterhouse Blue or the Throwback to see Sharpe at his very best. They truely are in a different league than this book. Sorry Tom, but you need to keep your writing sharp! ...
