I have been reading L E Modest Junior for a few years and I still haven't made up my mind whether I like him or not. "Gravity Dreams" seems to be a departure from his usual fantasy setting being set in the future (or a starwars style far past???) and is the story of a "Master of Dzin" although he seems to be a teacher who is infected by Nanites and exiled to a land of higher technology. His new life in a high technology culture is rather curious and to be honest I found the description of his change over very much reminisent of his recluce books. In fact I think its fair to say that he has taken a slightly different environment and laid it over a Recluce framework. The plot soons goes from scifi to fantasy, don't get me wrong I am a huge Fantasy fan but I found that this was a half hearted stab at what is really an excellent story line. However on the plus side his books are easy to read and the dialoge is handled well. I wouldn't recommend it to die hard scifi fans though!
