Great Expectations by Charles Dickens (Great Expectations - Charles Dickens)
Advantages: page after page of excitment Disadvantages: none
Great Expectations is a great novel, tremendously descriptive as i have been told is a habbit of dickens. This is my first Dickens novel i have read, i have always thought of him as a great writer yet never seemed to have read any of his work. Great Expectations is a classic, this is why i choose to read it. It is written in the first person and the narrative perpsective is an orphan called Pip taking the reader back to when he was young and innocent. Pip is asked to visit Miss Havisham, an old, lonely women who was stood up on her wedding day, he falls in love with her neice and becomes ashamed of his poor life. Pip is offered to go to london to make his fortune, he learns a lot!! Summary: |
