Advantages: Great for escapism!
Disadvantages: Tend to annoy others by being elsewhere...
This is the eighth Terry Pratchett book that I have read and I have enjoyed them all! The story builds around the guards from the night watch of Ankh-Morpork, led by their fearless leader Captain Vines (Well not fearless really, drunk mostly, on account of being brung low by a woman!) and the volunteer Carrot (Volunteer are you mad?). Ankh-Morpork is threatened by a dragon summoned by (oops don't want to give too much away!) who wishes to rule the city and subsequently Great Tuin itself. However our reluctant heroes have to save the day with a million to one chance - stage left - Sergeant Colon on top of a building, standing on one leg, soot on his face, hat on backwards and a hankie in his mouth trying to shoot at the dragons voonerables as he flys over with his one 'lucky arrow'.... Look out for the Elucidated Brethren and the excellent, though world weary, Grand Master. The characters are wonderful and the writing is superb! I am looking forward to reading more of the night watches antics...
