A good introduction to Hairy Maclary and friends (Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy - Lynley Dodd)
Member Name: Attachedparent
Advantages: Rhyming text is good fun – encourages enjoyment of reading Disadvantages: None
Hairy Maclary is a small black curly-haired dog who goes off for a walk, collecting a crowd of canine friends along the way. In the fun rhyme that is a feature of Lynley Dodd’s books, the friends are introduced, ranging from Hercules Morse the great dane to Schitzel von Krumm the dachshund. As a little twist at the end (another feature of most of Lynley Dodd’s books) they come up against Scarface Claw, the formidable neighbourhood cat. The illustrations are a good laugh for adults and wonderfully appealing to kids! Summary: |
