The book has black and white illustrations on most of the pages which help the child imagine the silly story. There are a total of 24 fairy tales and nursery rhymes. I find the nursery rhymes the most appealing, possibly because they are shorter and funnier. In the rhymes they change some of the words which makes it funny. Basically this is a silly book and appeals to people (grown ups and children) who have a silly sense of humour. That's why I liked it when I was younger. I was given this book at the same time as I received Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes. Roald Dahl's book is similar is some ways to this but in my opinion Dahl's book is much better. This book is a collection of well known and well loved fairy tales and nursery rhymes which have had some of the words changed (hence the title of the book) which makes some of them funny and some of them downright silly.
