I am a bit partial to Emma Blair books because she mainly writes stories based around Glasgow but has been known to travel down to Devon and in this case Cornwall. It is set in the second world war as is many of her books but the stories are varied and very different every time. Here we meet Maizie Blackare who runs the Paris hotel in a small fishing villiage called Coverack in Cornwall. She runs the hotel with the help of Alice because her husband Sam is off fighting with the Navy. Buisness is quite slow due to the war but one day a young solider called Christian arrives to recover from his injuries he has recieved in the war. Christian is french but is an ally ...
