      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A really unique refreshing read

Half way to the grave is the story of Cat Crawfield who is half human, half vampire. Her mother was attacked by a vampire soon after he was turned and was still able to impregnate a woman which resulted in her pregnancy and Cat's birth.
She has never been able to deal with what Cat is and that puts a huge strain on their relationship. Cat grew up hating Vampires and becomes a vampire hunter, her main objective is to find the monster who ruined her mothers life (her dad).

This is not your typical Buffy style Vampire hunter book nor is it your typical paranormal romance vampire lover one. It is something entirely different which is refreshing. The Characters are very varies and really interesting. Cat i beyond feisty, she is strong and witty and an overall bad-ass (no damsel in distress hear). Bones is evil & Ruthless and really scary and even more bad-ass than Cat, but he s also really funny and cool and naturally super sexy.

Bones is a vampire bounty hunter who kidnaps Cat thinking that she is also a bounty hunter and steeling his hits. He soon realize he was wrong and they pair up together for some super bad-ass action packed adventures, as well as some unbelievably hot bedroom scenes along the way that will definitely make you blush.

Cat and Bones are quite simply the funniest, coolest, sexiest and scariest paranormal romance couple I have ever read about (and I have read a few). I am really hooked to this series already and I can't wait to read the rest of the story. Any paranormal fans would love these books.

As a side warning though these books seem really difficult to get hold of in the UK as they were US published only waterstones had to order the one in for me as I couldn't find it no even on Ebay.

Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

        --- Book Synopsis ---

Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father--the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership.

In exchange for finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner--are there actually "good" vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her new found status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

        --- Review ----

Halfway to the Grave is an easy book to sum up by using three little bullet points -

        1 - Kick ass action
        2 - Sexy supernatural vampires
3 - Sex and lots of it

When I first picked up Halfway to the Grave I had high expectations after a few friends had all recommended the book in nothing short of glowing praise. In honesty my expectations put me off reading the book for months for apprehension that it just wouldn't live up to the hype, but after a couple of pretty meh type books I was desperate for a story that would just pull me in from the opening sentence and keep me entertained. Well entertained I most certainly was with Halfway to the grave.

Halfway to the Grave was far from perfect. It was a little clichéd in parts, it had a few chapters that just crawled along in pace and there was more than a few pages of rather cringe worthy sex scenes but what it lacked for in any sort of finesse it certainly made up for in entertainment. I read this book in just a couple of sittings over a weekend and I barely noticed the hours sail by, but Halfway to the Grave won't be winning any literary awards any time soon.

Even despite the clichés and weak plot of Halfway to the Grave the storyline was interesting enough to hold everything together, but it really was the characters that kept me hooked. I loved Cat, our feisty heroine and Bones the sexy aged vampire. However, Bones did begin to grate on me after a while because there is only so much alpha male dominant behaviour that a girl can stomach and this book really tests the boundaries. However, even weeding through some clunky writing Bones and Cat's unhealthy relationship kept me glued to the page.

The ending was good but left more than enough scope for the next book and I loved the last few lines, I'm sure I won't be forgetting Cat and Bones' story any time soon. However, I don't think I could read too many books like Halfway to the Grave too often or they would lose their appeal. I find it is best to think of this book and books like it as junk food fiction, indulge when you are in the mood but remember all good things are best served in moderation.

        --- Rating ---

To sum, Halfway to the grave was a fun, flirty, a bit dirty and definitely a fast read. If you fancy some easy entertainment then definitely consider giving Halfway to the grave a go. It is the type of book that for me shouldn't have worked, but I found it all came together somehow and made for a fun and entertaining read.

Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost definitely deserves four out of five stars from me, I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of the next book to follow the adventures of Cat and Bones.
