If you're a young teenager looking for an easy read then this book is perfect. I would think it's best suited for when you're on long journeys as once you start it you won't put it down but then it gets finished in no time at all. It hooks you with the story of 17 year old Rich who's a struggling art college student and who has amazing talent. It's a nice feel good book as the main character is attractive and has 'perfect guy' personality although is clearly 'a bit of rough' - excuse the excessive use of inverted commars! Hard Cash is a book about a character called Rich, it explains how a boy in his late teens has no money and always dressed the same, never changes his look while all his friends are fine. Kate Cann is a great author. This book is so realistic just a normal teenager, with no money, wanting a job and their teachers niggling at them. Rich the main boy of the story, is always broke, it annoys him because his friend Nick always pays for everything and always has money when they drink he pays for it all. He looks down on rich people because he sees guys use their money and taking girls back to their flats he wants to do this. He has his eye on the girl at school he likes Portia McCutcheon.
