I have just read Harnessing Peacocks by Mary Wesley. I picked this up as a holiday read which was amongst a variety of books in the cottage in which I stayed. This was one of those books which you are pleased to have read and battle to find another which matches for your next read. The story is based around a character called Hebe who is a bit of a free spirit as far as others are concerned. The book opens with Hebe having her unplanned pregnancy being discussed by the family who decide that a termination is the most suitable option (especially in view of their social standing).
