Book one: Aurian In this book you are introduced to Aurian, a young mage girl, who lives alone with her mother Eilin, The lady of the lake. Aurian has not had the best of childhoods, her father Geraint died in a magical accident and her mother does not take the best care of her. Aurian looks after herself as her mother has little time to spare for her so she is not the most disaplined of children. In the opening we are introduced to Forral, a swordsman and close friend of Geriant. Forral has just found out about Geraint and has gone to offer his services to Eilin. Unfortuantely Eilin does not take kindly to Forrals reappearance and kicks him out! ... Read the complete review

Harp of Winds is brilliant. It is the second book in the Artefacts of Power quartet (the first was Aurian). I highly recommend this series of books, Maggie Furey's writing is such that you never get bored. If Aurian happens to be travelling you can visualise the lanscape she is in, there is even a part where she is in a city and meets a dragon, the writing here is so rich you can see it happening in front of you. There is only one thing which I can say against this book. There are so many times when you begin to feel that nothing will ever go right for the main characters but then again it just makes it better when something good happens! ... Read the complete review
