I have to admit that when I picked up this hardback book 'Harry and the Dinosaurs say Raahh!' I did not realise that this was actually part of a collection of books about Harry and his dinosaurs, written by english teacher Ian Whybrown, and illustrated extremely well by Adrian Reynolds. I merely picked it up because it looked like something my classful of children would enjoy, and it was only 25p at the school fair. It is available, along with a CD, for the heftier price of £5.49 on amazon. Anyhow, this particular book from the occasion focuses on Harry's trip to the dentist. The blurb at the back describes the story wonderfully: 'Harry's ... Read the complete review

My 4 year old son has been a big fan of dinosaurs for a long time now, as I guess a lot of kids his age are. One of his favourite books at the moment is a collection of Harry and his Bucketful of Dinosaurs stories, and one of these is Harry and the Dinosaurs say 'Raaah!', which deals with going to the dentist and how to overcome your fears of it. Each Harry story has a kind of moral to it and is designed to help kids relate to things by using 'friends' such as toy dinosaurs and pretending they're real and overcoming your fears by displacing them into the toys. In this situation, Harry is afraid of going to the dentist, so he pretends that one of his dinosaurs, ... Read the complete review

My little boy has grown out of the Harry and his Dinosaurs books now he is six and has gone onto "Captain Underpants " which are incredibly funny, for those of you who have not read them but defiantly a boys thing!!! I leave these books to my hubby!! Now I never thought I would say this but I miss reading Harry and the Dinosaurs.....he was crazy about Harry and the dinosaurs, and this was one of his favourite books from the range.....and they were a really nice read, I use to have to read them 4-5 times a week at least. Harry and the Dinosaurs say Raahh (Ian Whybrow/Adrian Reynolds) is all about the adventure of when Harry is scheduled to ... Read the complete review

Taking a young child to the dentist for the first time could prove to be a frightening experience for them, having to encounter complete strangers and deal with the prospect of pain, but Ian Whybrow comes to the rescue with his story 'Harry and the Dinosaurs say "Raahh!"' Little Harry with the big fringe takes his bucket of dinosaurs everywhere with him in Whybrow's series of picture books. At the start of 'Harry and the Dinosaurs say "Raahh!"' Harry is busily cleaning his teeth in preparation for his first visit to the dentist. He is a little afraid because elder sister Sam has shown him her filling. His dinosaurs are hiding but they all ... Read the complete review

I thought this would be a fun bedtime story as the grandson does like his dinosaurs. I thought this looked quite sweet because little Harry, the boy in the story, carries around all his little dinosaurs in a bucket which is very typical behaviour of your average small boy. This retails at £4.99 which is average these days for a children's book. The version we have is a little hardback copy but it's also on Amazon in paperback too. Inside the book tells the story of young Harry going off to the dentist. Before he gets going, he rounds up all his stuffed dinosaurs and puts them into his bucket as he's accustomed to doing. It takes him a while to ... Read the complete review
