It has been over ten years since the arrival of the infamous Harry Potter and it is no secret of just how successful J.K. Rowling has become because of her best selling novels. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was first published in 1998 by Bloomsbury Publishing and is the second book of the seven part series. Once again, this particular novel topped the Book charts for numerous weeks and only furthered the praise given for the world of Harry Potter. However is the series as good as they all say? Is the hype really true? Will the second book captivate me to read on? Well to be honest I have to admit I was not a fan of the first book, Harry Potter and ... Read the complete review

Perhaps my favourite book of the Harry Potter series is the Chamber of Secrets. This book has sold 77 million copies worldwide, which is just phenomenal. This book consists of 18 chapters and is a bit more complex than the previous one. The complexity of the story is what made it so great to me, as it was so exciting to realise what was going on as the plot unfolded, and it was a superb story! After spending a terrible summer at his Uncle's house with the Dursleys, Harry Potter had an unexpected visit from a little creature called Dobby. Harry had already had his wand, books and other magical merchandise taken away by his horrible Uncle. ... Read the complete review

As anyone that knows will be able to tell you I am a Harry Potter addict so it might come as a bit of a shock for people to know that I am not a fan of The Chamber Of Secrets. It is now over ten years since the arrival of J.K.Rowling's series of books about boy wizard Harry Potter. The chamber of Secrets is the second book in the series. I am reviewing this as I have just reread the books for maybe the eighth time! The book starts of at the home of Harry Potter living with his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon and his awful cousin Dudley. Uncle Vernon is having a meal with an important client of his company and he has asked one thing from Harry which ... Read the complete review

I recently read in a poll online that Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets(second book) was voted the least favourite of the seven Harry Potter books and I was shocked by this. The Chamber of Secrets is one of the shorter books and could be easily read in one sitting. You can tell that this is one of the earlier books it seems to have a more light hearted and humourous tone that the later books don't feature. But of course this book is not without its dark moments, especially with a monster on the loose released by the Heir of Slytherin. I feel also that the Chamber of Secrets is a key book to the following five because it introduces characters that feature ... Read the complete review

The 'Camber of Secrets' just like the first book has little or no relevence to the larger plotline that develops later in the series - but just like the first book is still a very good book to read as a singualrity. It follows Harry Potter and his adventures as he enters his second year at Hogwarts. Natrually, for a boy like Harry the year does not run entirely smoothly and the school is plagued by a destructive force (trying not to give anything away). It turns out that Harry is the one to eventually bring and end to the terror and natrually the ending is highly excitng and anticipated. The actual plot is smart - I like to think of it as a mystery ... Read the complete review
