Advantages: Excellent read

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second book in the series that has been wrote by the great author JK Rowling. It follows on from the first book that she wrote and leads on nicely to the next book in the series. The Harry Potter books have been out in the world for quite some time now although the sixth book in the series has only been out for about a year now, but I am sure that most people in the world know the books staring Harry Potter and written by JKR. The book is so good and popular that they have also made the books into films that have been shown at the cinemas and are now out on DVD. The book has also been made into an audio book and has also been made into over 20 different languages from all over the world.

The plot

As Harry ends his first year at Hogwarts he is then sent home again for the summer holidays and it is not trusted by the Dursley’s one little bit. Dudley is now ever so careful about what he says to Harry and Vernon is always threatening about what will happen if he uses his magic in his house or against his family. Whilst Harry was staying at the Dursley’s in the summer it was his birthday and he considers it the worst birthday that he has ever had and cant wait to back to schools so that he can get back to the magical world and back with his friends where he is not locked up in a room all day.

Harry is then met by a very strange creature and his name is dobby and he tries to warn him about going back to Hogwarts because of all of the bad things that are going to happen this year but Harry takes no notice of him and goes back to school as normal when term time comes. Harry’s aunt and uncle are so protective over Harry and not letting him go out they even install bars on his bedroom window, which are later ripped out by the Weasley’s flying car. Harry then spends the rest of his holidays at the Weasly’s house where he is pretty much worshipped and they all respect and look after him so so much.

Harry and Ron then have an encounter with a very famous tree they call the whomping willow, which famously moves and sways round all of the time and has secret entrances etc but we do not find this out until the third book. Then the person that they had all seen in the bookshop then becomes their defense against the dark arts teacher, which is quite a worrying thing although all of the students love him to bits. As like Harry did in the first year at school he plays Quidditch and is ever better improving on the game and more and more students are becoming to know him and starting to like him.

The trio needs to know something, and to find these things out they have to do weird and wonderful things. This year they have to make a potion that will turn them into somebody else and make them act like them etc. as per usual, something goes wrong and develops the story further more. As the story comes to an end they go on a mission into the chamber of secrets and reveal it mysteries and bring a charming end to the book.

My opinion

I think that the book is a very good and interesting and has brought out the reading side for millions of people because this book is just simply amazing and keeps anybody no matter what age in a good read. Everyone that I know has read this book, in fact everyone I know has read the whole trilogy of books. The Harry Potter stories are simply amazing I don’t know how JK comes up with these kinds of ideas.

This has got to be the best series of books that I have ever read and would recommend them to anyone that would like and excellent read. They can be purchased from most bookstores and are quite cheap now as this particular one was released quite some time ago. It will set you back at around £5.00 and can be purchased from most good book shops.

Thank you for reading
