I have just finished the best book I have ever read! I had to stop reading it 2/3 of the way through it because my children weren't sleeping too well and I was so tired that I couldn't keep my eyes open long enough.

Now however I have reached the end of this incredible book it feels like I have been on a wondrous journey and have only just reached my destination.

This is the fourth, and longest, book of the much talked about Harry Potter series, it was released over a year ago and now I, along with all millions of other fans, eagerly await the 5th book!

This book follows the same story line as the first three, with harry starting a new year at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, but is slightly longer because before the end of the summer holidays he gets invited along with the Weasley family to the Quidditch world cup.

This book is a total of 636 pages long and I didn't get bored of it once, every page keeps your interest as you wonder what little twists and turns J K Rowling is going to add next, and where there is magic involved anything can and does happen!

The last 100 or so pages were quite shocking to me as I never expected anyone to die, they were only stunned in the last books.

The main part of the story is the Triwizard tournament and how someone has entered Harry's name into the Goblet of Fire (Hence the name of the book). So there are 4 entrants in the tournament (2 from Hogwarts) Harry is too young to enter this competition and so someone else must have done this for him, but why?

Also we know from various sources that the Dark Lord is gaining his powers back and has already killed a couple of people right at the beginning of the book. The main thing that keeps happening is Harry's scar keeps getting very painful and this can only mean that either Voldemort is close by or getting stronger.

This story also sees the return of Sirrius Black, Harry's god
father, who he helped escape in the third book. Harry and Sirrius keep in touch all through the book by Owls as Sirrius is in hiding, they have to use different owls every time.

Sirrius thinks that someone is using the tournament as part of an elaborate plan to kill Harry, and so warns Harry to be wary of everyone.

This book also sees Harry and Ron actually noticing girls and with the other two schools involved in the tournament there is a lot of romance in the air, even for Harry's old friend Hagrid.

There is also another character added to spice things up she is the reporter for the Daily Prophet, Rita Skeeter, she reports on everything to do with the champions from each o the three schools and especially Harry but unfortunately she makes things up or rather her automatic writing Quill does! This makes life uncomfortable for Harry, Ron and Hermione, who is dating the champion Krum.

As the pieces of this wonderful puzzle of a book all come together, the reader is left thinking - yes that explains it and J K Rowling leaves nothing out in her explanation. This book is so good that I have to say the one and only downside is that when you come to the end, you are left at a loss and because the next book in the series hasn't been released yet I am feeling sad. I am in two minds about reading the whole series again but maybe I will leave that until next year.

I am also waiting for the first film to come out which I believe to be happening at the end of November - I can't wait!

I highly recommend this book but would suggest that you read the first three in order as you wouldn't know exactly what was going on!

Thanks for reading

Amanda

I've yet to read this one, still on the 3rd, but it sounds great! I know it's Leigh-Ann's favourite HP book.
