Advantages: anything that encourages children to read is a good thing in my book!

Disadvantages: readers are getting a bit aware of the ‘twists’ - people who aren’t who they say they are a particular favourite.

Practical issues first - this book is BIG. This makes it bloody difficult to hold. A larger size and thinner width would probably have been wiser. I have read all of the previous books and have definitely been impressed - they are wonderfully descriptive. This book sees Harry starting his fourth year at Hogwarts. Harry and Hermione are there as always, and the first chapter tells us that Voldemort is likely to be there too. Harry is showing signs of interest in Hermione - possible romance there then? The book is probably the scariest, which will frighten younger readers who can’t get enough of the stories. The main storyline this time is to do with a competition at the school, which Harry is chosen to compete in, despite being underage. I won’t spoil the rest of the story, it is worth a read, whatever your age. You don’t need to have read the other books, but I would recommend starting with one of the others if you are going to start reading the series.

Not a bad summary. But some key issues seem to have been missed by the reader. Harry is blatantly not interested in Hermione. But there is a romance starting to blossom between Ron and Hermione. Their constant bickering throughout the series suggested it had to happen sometime.
