Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone
When I first read this book I immediately wanted more so whilst waiting for the second book to come out I read this over and over again.
I practically know it word for word!

A FEW CHARACTERS...
Harry potter (the boy who lived): He got sent to live with his aunt and uncle after his parents died and had to put up with his cousin Dudley who gets what ever he wants.
Vernon Dursley: Husband to Petunia Dursley and father to Dudley Dursley He is the director of a firm called Grunnings which made drills.
Petunia Dursley: Wife to Vernon Dursley and mother to Dudley Dursley who she refers to as Duddykins. She spends half her time craning over her garden fence spying on her neighbors.
Professor Mcgonagall: Head of Gryffindor house at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She is also deputy head. And transfigurations teacher.
Professor Dumbledore: Head master of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Friend of Nicholas Flamel creator of the philosopher's stone.
Ronald Weasley: Harry's best friend he knows an awful lot about chess has 5 brothers and 1 sister. He owns a pet rat named Scabbers who has been in his family for 12 years.
Hermione Granger: Another of Harry's friends. She is a bit of a know it all. She is muggle born and both her parents are dentists. She hates breaking school rules.
Rubeus Hagrid: Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts. He rescued Harry from the Dursley's. He has a dog named fang and has always wanted a pet dragon.
PLOT...
Harry Potter who thinks he is just a normal human boy is proved wrong. He is rescued from his guardians The Dursley's by a half giant named Rubeus Hagrid on his eleventh birthday. He takes Harry to get his school supplies (Wand, Cauldron Owl and books.)In Diagon Alley. Harry is noticed by many people he does not know he is famous in the wizarding world. He is famous because he survived a killing curse and an evil wizard was destroyed (or so they thought)
Harry's Parents sacrificed themselves so Harry could live which by doing that put a protective charm around him which was what saved Harry's life from the killing curse it made it back fire and it hit Lord Voldemort(He Who Must Not Be Named. You Know Who) So Harry finds out he is a wizard and starts attending Hogwarts where he soon makes friends... and a couple of enemies along the way. Harry gets placed in Gryffindor house and plays seeker for their quidditch team. He learns new spells and brews a few potions transforms a few things and learns about a stone called the philosophers stone and thinks someone is going to steal it so goes on a mission to stop the thief but is the thief who would expect it to be??
MY THOUGHTS:
I loved this book and still do its far better than the film I don't mind the films though but I can really get into the books and I also like to picture it happening in my head too.
