In my opinion this is a must read for everyone; including small children with parents reading it to them. This book; while it wasn't an instant success has sold millions of copies and caused the nation to wait impatiently for the final installment in the series which broke several records.
It all begins with Harry as a one year old boy being left on his aunt's door step. For the next ten years of his life he is forced to live cramped in a cupboard under the stairs constantly being teased and bullied by Dursley his cousin. Aunt Petunia and Vernon (uncle) neglect Harry and favour hugely Dursley their own son. Harry's life looks like it will be plagued with misfortune starting with his parents "car crash."
However on Harry's twelfth birthday he realises that he is a wizard. And a very famous one. He enters a whole new exciting world and finally discovers some of his past explore his new school and learn about new things.
I would thoroughly recommend this book to all readers as it is truly a magnificent book and anyone who hasn't read it has missed out hugely.
