Advantages: New darker plot

Disadvantages: Shame the series reached its peak before halfway

I think this book is widely considered the best of the Harry Potter series and rightly so. What makes this book stand out is that Rowling presents something of a darker story in this book which makes it more appealing to older readers and helps to shrug a bit of the feel good feel that a few of the books suffer from in parts.

Without explaining the plot, this book like the first two, can pretty much standalone (except for the characters and places that have been built up throughout). It has its own individual storyline or plot if you like. Rowling also introduces a more rebellious side to Harry right at the start and like the second book, continues to introduce more characters and places, which renews your feeling of immersion into her world.

Though probably the best book in the series, the first two books are also very good, and I would definitely recommend reading those before reading this, as this is not so much better to warrant skipping books in the series.

Summary: A great book, but read the first two first

I think you need to put more detail into your review, you can delve into what the book is about without ruining the plot. It is very brief and doesn't really say much about the book.

I do agree with you though that its the best book out of the 7!
