Before i ever read a Harry Potter book i had read many other stories about witches and wizards including several series of books about the same charactors. My friends kept telling me just how great the harry potter books where but i refused to read them believe that they could not be better than any of the other books i had read, especially seeing as my favourite books at that time were by an author who wrote a series about magicians and wizards. I believed that the harry potter books (at the time only nubers one to 4 were out) were being hyped up too much. However i was forced to read The philosophers stone at a book club i was a part of at that time, from then on i was ...  Read the complete review

I'm not really your everyday Harry Potter reader. I tend to read 'adult' books rather then ones that I have always seen as childrens books and the magical world of witches and wizards holds no interest to me. For those of you who do not know Harry Potter is a young wizard who lost his parent's at a young age due to 'He who must not be named'. The Harry Potter books go through the time from when he finds out he is a wizard and attends Hogwarts school right through to his adulthood. His two best friends Hermoine Granger and Ron Weasley also feature heavilly in the books and all three have wonderfull characters and are very likable. Unfortunately for Harry his ...  Read the complete review

The Harry Potter books have, over the years, become ledgendary, and JK Rowling has become one of the richest women in the world. Harry Potter is an orphan living with his nasty aunt and uncle and their bully of a son dudley, when one day his life is turned around, on hearing the news that he is a wizard and will be going to hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry where he meets his best friends, ron and hermione. how can i write a review on something that has not yet been released i hear you cry. Well the truth is that i am writing a review on the anticipatio that is being felt in my household at the minute (and i am sure in many many others). this saga was introduced to me by my wife shortly after the prisoner of azkaban was released. since then i have read all the books several times, watched all the movies at the cinema, including the order of the pheonix yesterday(fab by the way), and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Might i remind you that i am 27 years old, but never before has an author created a world so widely loved, and i am sure you would agree that she is an excellent ...  Read the complete review
