Advantages: Good series for all ages.

Disadvantages: People who are not familiar with the books do not give then the credit they deserve.

Welcome to J.K.Rowling's strangely magical stories about Harry Potter.

The books by J.K.Rowling about Harry Potter have been in the news, on television, on the radio, in many magic loving people's hands and soon to be on the big screen with the Harry Potter film.
But it was only till quite recently that I eventually have got into the world of Harry Potter after the books had be recommended to me so many times I decided to see what the fuss is all about and I loved them. Even before I started to buy them I knew who Harry Potter was I even knew about Hogwarts and Quiddich, its strange how you get to know things. (its like magic)

The books give you chance to follow Harry and his friends through his seven years at Hogwarts each book covers a year at school so only his first four years are covered at the moment.

As I don't have much time for much reading I decided to buy the first book 'Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone' on six cassettes.
The Harry Potter audio books are produced by a company called Cover to Cover Cassettes Ltd. and they do just that, they produce complete and unabridged recordings of the books cover to cover. Unabridged audio books make sure that you don't miss any of the story and I feel that with Harry Potter to abridge them would spoil the story.

The books are very well read by Steven Fry who really breathes life into the words of J.K.Rowling with his character voices and his whole way of telling the magical story.

"STEVEN FRY IS KNOWN FOR HIS SHARP WIT AND HUMOUR. WHO BETTER TO READ HARRY POTTER! HIS TV CAREER STARTED WITH BLACKADDER FOLLOWED BY A BIT IF FRY AND LAURIE. HE MEMORABLY PLAYED JEEVES. HE WRITES REGULARLY FOR MANY NEWSPAPERS AND MAGAZINES.
HE WON A TALKIE AWARD FOR HIS READING OF HARRY POTTER & THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE."
Quote from the side of the tape box of 'Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban'

However a
s audio books can guide the imagination on how the character sounds and even looks I know children who find Steven Fry's interpretation on the characters scary and much prefer reading book as in there own mind they can make the characters as scary as they want to.

Since that first book I have since bought the other three:
'Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets' on six cassettes.
'Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban' on eight cassettes.
'Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire' on fourteen cassettes, two parts each with seven cassettes each.
I am yet to be disappointed as they have maintained an excellent standard and they all had me quickly grabbing the next tape wanting to know what happens next.

All the books are full of magic, adventure, strange creatures, suspense, comedy, more magic, mystery and very clever plot twists that leave you second-guessing and still you are surprised when you reach the end and you are left wanting more, wanting to rush out to get the next book.

Steven Fry reads all of the four books that are out to date and I do hope he continues till the seven book Harry Potter series is complete.

I have found that some people that I know see Harry Potter books as children's books and will not read them because of this, to be honest even I thought like that at one point however I have learnt otherwise.
I still can not understand why somebody said to me:
"I can't believe you read Harry Potter , its so badly written"
but when I asked
"So which Harry Potter books have you read"
they just answered
"Oh, I have not read any"
So, come on give it a chance and don't go on about how that are written if you have not read them.

J.K.Rowling's creation is for all ages the adventures are to be enjoyed by everyone and her way of writing means I know children and adults who all enjoy Harry Potter.

I a
m also looking forward to see the new Harry Potter film 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' as if it is as good as the book them we are all in for a real treat however we'll all have to wait till its released.

Anyway enough of all this I will tell you a bit about each book:

Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone.
Harry Potter lived in the cupboard under the stairs at 4 Privet Drive with his only living family the Dursleys. Harry hated every day there and all he had to remember his parents was a scar on his forehead in the shape of a lightning bolt as lasting reminder of what happened when he was about one year old just beyond his memory. That scar was a symbol of why Harry was so special.
After living with his horrible Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon and being picked on by his cousin Dudley for about ten years. Harry finally finds out that he is destined to be a wizard. So Harry goes to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from platform 9 ¾ at Kings Cross station and so the adventure begins.
Join Harry during his first year at Hogwarts as he makes friends and enemies and find out about the mysterious package wrapped in brown paper.

Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets.
The school holidays were not much fun for Harry, the Dursleys were still mean to him but they were a little more weary about if they are gonna be turned into toads. So after a strange visit from Dobby Harry was locked in his room never to come out. That was until his nest friend at Hogwarts Ron and his brothers appeared at the second floor bedroom window in a car and took to stay at their house.
Harry was only too happy to start his second year at school, but there are mysterious goings on.
Who has opened the Chamber of Secrets?

Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harrys school holidays were as bad as ever and when he blow up his Aunt Marge he ran away, he was safely picked up be the night bus (a bus
for wizards and witches in need). Harry learns that there is an escaped prisoner on the loose and everyone is suddenly all concerned about Harrys safety.
During his third year school security is at its maximum can Harry, Ron and Hermione find out anything about this prisoner from Azkaban (wizard high security prison)?

Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire
Things are slightly better than usual and he gets to go to the Quiddich World Cup but there are strange goings on. With Hogwarts hosting the Triwizard tournament and one student from each of the other wizard schools however things are getting strange, as the goblet of fire chooses four champions. How can this be? Who has bewitched the goblet of fire and why? Will Harry get through?

So that's that, don't be a Muggle* and grab your wand, get on your Nimbus 2000 racing broom and fly into the world of Harry Potter.

P.S.
Beware of 'Lord Voldemort' oops sorry, beware of 'you know who'

*Muggle - a non-magical person unaware of the existence of the wizards and witches all around them.
