Another trip to my local second hand bookstore and another gem of a novel. This time the tome is Hart’s War by John Katzenbach. I have to explain that my bookstore also sells new books and discounted books that were printed incorrectly. It is therefore possible to stumble upon a recent release at rock bottom price and this was the case with this novel as I picked up a pristine copy for £3 although the cover price is £6.99. I had a voucher with some money remaining and had heard about this title, as I believe it has been made into a film starring Bruce Willis. However, do not quote me on that. Last fall while I was in Italy, I finished up the book I had brought with me just in time for the long plane ride home. So, while in a bookstore that sold a few books in English, I found Hart's War. Even though I hadn't heard the name Katzenbach, let alone read his stuff, I was intrigued enough by the description on the back cover to buy it. I figured if nothing else, it would keep me occupied during the 11-hour flight home. However, from the first chapter, Hart's War had my full attention and interest.
