One of the best, most inventive pop up books. I've always loved pop up books, I remember a really old tatty Bookano book always at home when I was a child. I remember trying to mend the pop ups which had all but disappeared many years before. Jan Pienkowski has produced some very memorable and enviable books, his silhouette illustrations are absolutely astonishing works of art, his famous Meg and Mog books are full of fun and his pop ups are so inventive. I think this is his best pop up book, I've owned a copy for more years than I'd admit to and I still enjoy reading/looking through it. Clever, inventful and full of humour. As you go ... Oh dear me, what have I done? I requested this title be added in a surge of absolute mummikins pride and fond nostalgia...Now I'm left looking at seventy rather limited and disjointed words, and I'm pondering heavily, searching desperately to find the words. All this is due to a spoilt little brat that used to go to school with me: She always had the best stuff: The best table top Pacman; those shrinky dinky things that you stuck in the oven; the coolest pair of Fame leg warmers...and this book.
