Healthy Eating For Your Heart: Paul Gayler with Jacqui Lynas BSc RD: As some of you will know from my "about me" text my other half recently had a heart attack at the age of 29. It was a huge shock and caused by a genetic fault that caused him to have a very narrow artery in his heart. They can do some amazing things these days and he had a 'stent', (a kind of piece of surgical scaffold), put in to widen the artery and he is now fitter than he has been for years. Despite the success of the procedure he still has to take medication, (statins), for life, give up smoking and of course have a very healthy or 'cardioproactive' diet.
