This is part of a series of autobiographical works written by Maya Angelou. Angelou is a poet, writer, singer and activist - amongst her many achievements - and spoke at the inuguration ceremony of President Clinton in in the US. It is set in Ghana, beginning in 1968, where Angelou arrives from the States. This is the compelling sequal to the bestseller " I Know Why The Caged Bird SIngs". Having survived the war , Maya now finds herself facing the trials and tribulations of motherhood. At only 17 she finds it a great struggle. She s isolated from her family because of the baby, she finds herself drifting between transient jobs anywhere she could, shops, resaurants & nightclubs.
